Broken Capillaries

Telangiectasias, known commonly as broken capillaries, are permanently dilated blood vessels that appear under the surface of the skin. They often appear on the nose, cheeks, and chin and look like small red dots or spider veins. Many things can cause it, such as UV rays, trauma, hot showers, or even blowing your nose or rubbing your face too vigorously. You may also be genetically predisposed to broken capillaries, which makes preventative measures extra important. You can achieve this by taking steps to avoid or counter the risk factors mentioned above and by being gentle with your face.
