Skin Tags
What are skin tags? Skin tags are flesh-colored non-cancerous growths on the skin, often appearing in greater frequency after age 50. They can appear in the armpits, on the thighs, on the neck and often occur where the skin on one's body creases, although they can appear other places, too. The look of skin tags is that of skin hanging off a nubby stalk, giving it a raised appearance. Most are quite small, although occasionally they can grow larger. Skin tags are non-malignant. However, some individuals choose to have skin tags removed if they are in a visible place or are causing discomfort. While most skin tags look different from moles, if you have any concerns about a skin growth, the safest option is always to get a medical opinion.
